Acute Care Services
Acute care rehabilitation services are available for all UAB Hospital units. The goal of therapy at this level is to promote early mobilization, restore function, prevent further decline, and facilitate patient discharge to the next level in the continuum of care. Occupational, physical, speech, and music therapy services are available with referral from the physician, and patients of all ages generally are treated at the bedside.

POSITION DESCRIPTION
To provide leadership oversight to the therapy programs in the acute care setting of UAB Hospital. To lead the physical, occupational and speech therapy disciplines across main and Highlands campuses. To facilitate the process for the provision and documentation of patient care, utilizing best practice standards to improve patient experience. To ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines and applicable accreditation standards. To provide direct leadership and oversight of quality, personnel and budget operations for therapy services provided at UAB Hospital. Salary Range: $85,092.8 - $141,273.6

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy or Speech Therapy and five (5) years relevant experience required. Master s degree preferred. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement. Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Speech-Language Pathologist, Occupational Therapist, or Physical Therapistby the appropriate State of Alabama Board.Currently certified with Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) required.

Inpatient Therapy Services
UAB Spain Rehabilitation Center offers a wide range of nationally recognized inpatient therapy programs designed to treat patients recovering from traumatic brain injury, stroke, trauma, orthopaedic and musculoskeletal injuries, amputation, certain neurological conditions, and general debility. We are home to one of only 14 spinal cord injury model systems and one of 16 traumatic brain injury model systems in the nation. The ultimate goal for inpatient care at UAB Spain Rehabilitation Center is to promote the optimal level of function in each patient, so that they can return home as soon and as safely as possible. Patients receive a minimum of 3 hours of therapy per day, 6 days a week, and family members are encouraged to participate in all aspects of therapy.

•We are looking for an Audiologist with licensure that is in good standing with the State Board of Speech Pathology and Audiology.
•Doctorate of Audiology is required (AuD). If graduated before 2006 a Masters degree is OK
•Strong background in hearing aid dispensing along with fitting, and repairs.
•Strong understanding of billing 3rd party reimbursement process is desired.
