SEALs - State Education Advocacy Leader

SEALs is an advocate group that is appointed by ASHA-recognized state speech and hearing associations. The main focus is to support educational issues across the United States. Issues may include caseload, workload, salary supplement, and maintenance of standards within the school setting.

As stated by ASHA “the mission of the SEALs network is to enhance and perpetuate the advocacy, leadership, and clinical management skills of school-based ASHA members at the state and local levels to influence administrative and public policy decisions that affect the delivery of speech-language pathology and audiology services in school settings.”

In our state, our goal is to be an advocate for Alabama's speech pathologist and audiologist. If you have questions or concerns, you are welcome to contact our state's contact person Judy Cutchen at jcutchen@homewood.k12.al.us.
